Predeal is the resort that lies at the highest altitude (1033 m) in the Prahova Valley (and Romania). This geographic position provides it with a dry climate and ozone-rich air. The first chalets in the resort were built in the 1900s. Skiing and mountain climbing on the slopes of the neighboring mountains, such as the Clπbucet, the GΓrbova and the Cioplea, are very popular. The thick layers of snow that cover these mountains from December to March makes skiing in winter a highly attractive activity.
